You've been told about the numerous advantages veterans of the U.S. Army get. The job skills, the leadership skills, "the strength to live out your dreams." Yet over one-third of the homeless population in the United States are veterans while veterans make up only about about 9% of the people in the United States . With massive cuts to Veterans Affairs programs, we can expect to see an even greater percentage of soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan on the streets.

Veterans are at a higher risk for homelessness since most suffer from mental and physical problems
