Missing man, 75, and his mother, 100, are found OK near Litchfield

Police announced that they have found a 75-year-old man and his mother who left their home in O'Fallon, Ill., in the afternoon and failed to arrive at a family Thanksgiving dinner at another residence in the same city.

They were found in Litchfield.

They were were Eugene Titterington and his mother, Alice Philipp, 100, who left home in the 100 block of White Pine Avenue in south O'Fallon about 3:30 p.m. They were seen driving away in their white 1989 Buick Electra, with Illinois Korean War veteran license plate 4787KW. Police said they were headed to a home a mile away on the north side of town.


Illinois State Police in Litchfield said Trooper Adam Belcher spotted the car Eugene J. Titterington was driving shortly after midnight Friday near an exit ramp off Interstate 55.


Troopers said Titterington and his mother, Alice O. Philipp, were unharmed and were turned over to family members who drove from O'Fallon.POST-DISPATCH
